Watch behind the scenes of the short film ‘Tuning’ shot on the Panasonic LUMIX S1 and Atomos Ninja V HDR monitor-recorder. The team from UK production company, Wise Guys, shot the entire film on-location in just two and a half days with a minimal cast and crew. You can see the finished film below:

It was recorded in Panasonic’s excellent Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) profile in 10-bit 4K 4:2:2 direct to Apple ProRes on the Ninja V. The combination of the Lumix S1’s full-frame sensor and the Ninja V’s 4Kp60 Apple ProRes or Avid DNx recording makes the S1 a formidable combination capable of truly cinematic images. The Ninja V’s HLG HDR setting allowed the Wise Guys team to accurately see their images on-set in real-time and figure out exactly how they would look in post-production. The full range of focus and exposure tools on the Ninja V also aided in perfecting shots.
