Camera to Cloud

Camera to cloud is one of the fastest-growing technologies in video production today. It massively speeds up the content creation process by reducing the time between acquisition and post-production because there’s no need to ship hard drives or copy files.

With camera to cloud you can send video directly to the cloud so that your editor or director can access your content from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. With our network-connected range of monitor‑recorders, Atomos provides a number of different cost-effective ways to incorporate camera to cloud into your production workflow.

ATOMOSphere is our own cloud-based production ecosystem for media storage, back-up, camera-to-cloud upload, file sharing, review & approval, and more. Every Atomos customer gets an ATOMOSphere Starter Plan with 20GB of FREE storage and a host of benefits.

Mavis Cloud Hub is a powerful cloud platform that lets you manage, control, and streamline your cloud-connected Atomos devices remotely. It centralizes your streaming presets, device configurations, and camera-to-cloud workflows, for professional-grade live streaming and media collaboration.

Frame.io is Adobe’s cloud-based video collaboration platform that lets teams review, share, and approve media faster. All Atomos cloud-enabled monitor-recorders can be configured to upload video content directly to your Frame.io account.

Atomos cloud-enabled monitor-recorders can also directly upload to Dropbox, to keep your files organized, accessible, and synced across all your devices, or Dropbox Replay, for video and media review and approval.

Edit while you shoot

With a camera to cloud workflow you can upload your media directly from any connected Atomos monitor-recorder (Ninja TX GO, Ninja TX, any Ninja with Atomos Connect, or Shogun Ultra) to the cloud, from any location with an internet connection. Remote editors can start work as soon as the footage arrives, and other stakeholders can review and make suggestions.

Depending on your choice of camera to cloud platform – Atomos offers its own ATOMOSphere service and also supports Mavis Cloud Hub, Adobe Frame.io and Dropbox/Dropbox Replay – you can review clips via a web browser or app. Editors can start work on the uploaded media as soon as they receive it; matching timecode and metadata ensures that the edits can be conformed with the full-resolution media when it becomes available.

Atomos has brought camera to cloud workflows to an unprecedented range of digital cinema, mirrorless, and DSLR cameras. This new technology provides a comprehensive way for every filmmaker, broadcaster, and video content creator to accelerate their workflow, collaborate in real-time, and support remote team members, no matter the location, budget, or camera.

Stream to social media and more!

Mavis Cloud Hub is a gateway to a powerful collection of free streaming and paid-for camera to cloud services.

With this platform you can pair unlimited devices for free and stream from your cloud-enabled Atomos monitor-recorder to Facebook Live, Twitch/Instagram, YouTube Live, or even custom RTMP destinations. Streaming is direct from the device – only the configuration settings are stored in the cloud. This also means that settings can be remotely configured, for enterprise and corporate applications. Bitrates and quality settings can be quickly selected from presets, or completely customised.

Mavis also offers a C2C subscription service, with progressive uploads to broadcast camera to cloud platforms including Sony Ci Media, Amazon S3, MediaSilo and Grass Valley Framelight X. Upload and encoder settings can be remotely configured to select between single and dual recording, codec (including 10-bit HEVC), as well as bitrate, GOP and B-frame options. Custom metadata can be attached to files when uploading to Sony Ci Media, MediaSilo or Amazon S3.

Sundance Festival
The need for speed

Prestigious film festival in Utah uses Ninjas equipped with Atomos Connect to deliver next-day Festival Daily Recap packages in theaters and across its social media channels.

The Sundance Film Festival is one of the most prestigious in the world. Held annually in Park City, Utah, it has a reputation for showcasing original, thought-provoking films – often by up-and-coming directors.

Gathering footage during the day and then editing it at night for The Daily Recap to be distributed the next day is not an easy job. Deploying multiple cloud-connected Ninjas meant that footage could be delivered live throughout the day to the editing team, with next-day packages complete by end of play – hugely reducing the need for overnight work.
